Other area "County type" junior programs promote a 6 to 1 student to instructor ratio. QOSTC guarantees a 4 to 1 ratio maximum and most QOSTC Tiny Tots and Little Tennis clinics are 3 to 1 ratio. That 's a huge differenece in the amount a child can learn! Brian, the tennis director, is amazing at coordinating a fun and safe environment by splitting the kids up in small groups based on age and most importantly ability level. All participants continue to make huge improvements at QOSTC session after session.

TNT Clinic (Men's and Ladies)

tnt2011

qostc Skills Drills Videos

Adult TNT Policy

Technique and tactical instruction are combined to improve both stroke production and the player's ability to handle situations encountered during everyday play. Players can also form their own clinic at their most convenient time by contacting the professional staff. The average player/professional ratio is 5 to 1 maximum. Some clinics use 2 courts with 2 pros to divide up the level (i.e. low intermediate on court 1; intermediate on court 2).

TNT clinic participants get first right of renewal up to exactly one week prior to the new session by pre-registering with payment.

TNT clinics will meet once a week for four weeks.

**************

We really do appreciate the reality that all of our lives are an ever-changing mix of events and circumstances that even we sometimes cannot control.  Yet, there are those among us who just seem to be in exquisite control of their time and relatively unaffected by unexpected work and family demands.  Our NEW TNT Policy seeks to provide a cost-flexibility balance to BOTH types of clients to whom we are thankful for spending their recreational time with us on the courts.

Beginning in autumn, 2010 (indoor season) adult clinic participants will need to choose one of three available “options” which they feel will best fit their individual needs for planned, or more specifically, UNPLANNED absences from a clinic.   The “DISCOUNTED TNT” is for those folks who feel like they are comfortably certain they will be able to attend each clinic, or are not concerned with missing a clinic (there are no make-up clinics or credits with this plan). Clinic prices will reflect that certainty and  are somewhat less.  For those folks whose schedule is pretty dynamic and often seems to change on the day of a clinic we have an alternative (PREMIUM TNT) that allows a relatively late cancellation (restrictions below) with NO PENALTY and a right to make up that clinic within a certain amount of time.  Clearly, that plan will cost a bit more, but may fit your needs and lifestyle.

In the past we would often have literally last minute cancellations, or “no-shows”, for a clinic with the expectation of a make-up/credit that could not be cost justified.  It was like reserving a set number of tables in an expensive restaurant for a wedding reception dinner based on RSVPs and having a staff and menu ready for a large group and only have two people appear for dinner---not a great thing!!  While we wanted to be as flexible as possible and totally understand occasional emergencies it became an issue that was quickly resulting in clinics that actually lost money which we just can’t justify in this economy.

We noticed that Southwest Airlines has the EXACT same logic in their flight fees!  You can book a very “cheap” fare and be very limited with when you can use that fare, or you can pay substantially more and have greater flexibility in your travel schedule! With any TNT option we would appreciate all registration with payment one week prior to the start of the new session.

Again, please know that whatever cost plan you choose we are grateful for your presence here and realize you have other playing options in the area.  With our truly remarkable Professional teaching staff and our commitment to infra-structure upgrades (Resurfaced Courts This Autumn!) we really hope you’ll continue to choose to be part of the Quince Orchard tennis family for years to come.

**************

I have read and understand terms and registrations of new TNT/Adult Clinic Policy and Pricing. I also agree to make every effort to pre-register with payment for TNT sessions one week prior to the start at a new session.

You can print New Adult TNT Policy Form in PDF format and return it to the front desk signed on or before the first day of your clinic.

Discounted TNT
No make ups or credits allowed. Please do not ask professional staff and/or front desk staff for any exceptions. You can sell or give your spot to someone else (level appropriate). If you do notify Brian Fankhauser, Tennis Director 301-948-3116 ext. 14 by voice mail and we successfully sell your spot then the club will arrange a makeup clinic or drills at Brian’s discretion (we obviously will only sell each spot only once).

Member $138.00         Non-Member $153.00

Premium TNT
Must call the front desk and leave a voice mail for Brian Fankhauser, Tennis Director 301-948-3116 ext. 14 at least 90 minutes in advance of your clinic start time. This notice will give us a chance to sell your spot to someone on the waiting list. For example, please say to the front desk staff. “Hi, this is Steffi, I’m not going to make it to the 9:30 a.m. Ladies TNT. I would like to leave Brian a voice mail”. Then leave Brian a voice message noting your anticipated absence.

Member $158.00         Non-Member $173.00

Per Time TNT
Those who can’t commit to a TNT session can participate in Drills (See Adult Tennis brochure) or pay per time for  a TNT if space is available (call Brian) in a TNT of your level. We can no longer “prorate” clinics at the discounted or premium rate for those who only want to pay per time.

Make Up Credit
This could be used towards a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday drills or we can call you to make up on an alternate clinic time when someone else gives the same courtesy of notice.  "Make up credit" expire at the end of each season or 12-weeks, which ever is longer.

Inclement Weather

Indoor Season: We have rarely closed the club unless "Blizzard conditions and heavy accumulation".

Outdoor Season: Inclement Weather for tennis can be defined as when the club closes due to severe weather or when the courts are to wet to play.  Call the front desk 45 minutes to 1 hour prior to the clinic time to see if it is "on" or "canceled."  If the clinic is canceled the session will be extended by one week.

Sign-ups
Clinic renewals are not automatic.  Each session has a new sign-up sheet at the front desk.

Don't Forget
Challenge ladder matches (outdoor only), ball machine court time, Drills, and the pro shop specials are other ways to improve your game.  Make sure you are on our email list so you won't miss out on the next special event!

Pro Shop Services
A reminder that when it comes to new tennis equipment, the QOSTC Pro Shop can sell any racquet, bag, or shoes for less than Sports Authority or Dick's.  Please review "Reasons to Purchase a Racquet at QOSTC Pro Shop"  so you will be an informed consumer.  We can also custom fit your next racquet, stringing and tax is always included.  We appreciate a chance to sell you tennis products and services.  Any retail store or Internet site other than a pro shop has no interest in "growing the game" of tennis to give everyone more opportunities in the sport for a life time.

qostc Skills Drills Videos

This program is one of the most fun and exciting workouts you could ever do! Participants “run” through a huge variety of fast-paced tennis drills set to music while wearing a simple wrist-watch heart rate monitor. The monitor helps assure participants  that they are working-out at an optimum level for their age and physical condition. Tennis skill level is irrelevant since all drills are generally players hitting balls fed to them by the cardio tennis professional. NBC News-Channel 4 featured our classes with 2-time US Open winner Tracey Austin. These classes are truly a blast! Who wants to run on a treadmill or go to spin class when you can get the same work-out and have more fun with CARDIO TENNIS!

3. Campers should wear shorts, t-shirts, and sneakers. Please bring a bathing suit and towel each day and apply sunscreen before dropping your child off for the day. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOUR CHILD CANNOT SWIM!

7. Tennis instruction will be provided five days per week. Due to occasional extremely high court temperatures the Camp Director and Executive Director reserve the right to move the tennis instruction indoors for the health and safety of the children.

8. Each morning there will be an organized group "play period" on the club grounds or indoors designed to be first FUN, and then to enhance the child's motor skill and self-esteem development.

9. We will complete each week with a special Friday acitivity i.e. pizza day, ice cream sundae party day, etc! Parents would still need to provide lunch on Fridays.

10, Please be very specific and thorough when filling out the "Emergency Information/Health Enrollment Form"!

QOSTC Tennis Facility Rules and Regulations/Footwear Policy

QOSTC is extremely proud of our state-of-the art
tennis facility and especially of our new court surface!

Upon entering the tennis facility you agree to abide by the
QOSTC Rules and Regulations/Footwear Policy.

Anyone not following this policy will forfeit
their court time with no refund opportunity.

Required by QOSTC management, staff and
members/patrons that want to keep our facility beautiful.

Tennis Shoes Only on QOSTC Courts! No other shoes including, but not limited to: cross-trainers, running, basketball, street or casual or other sport shoes will be allowed on the new courts! Surprisingly, many recreational players might believe that "sneakers" are actually tennis shoes - but they are not! All shoes listed above have soles that will scar and mark the new surface. Even if you have regularly played tennis in your cross-trainers (never a good idea because they have NO lateral movement support) please note that you will be unable to play in anything but regulation tennis shoes henceforward.

Examples of marking soled shoes that will not be allowed on our courts.

QOSTC Pro Shop (an exclusive Wilson Dealer) will offer a low cost line of tennis shoes and, as always, stock a high performance line (all sizes for the higher quality line). Plus, the front desk will keep a few previously worn pairs to lend out (sizes are not guaranteed).

Rules and Regulations

* Please understand that all patrons are essentially paying for actual time on court. Don't request additional time from the next group, "because we are almost done and need to play just a couple more points!" Time really is money for everyone! Likewise, please don't interrupt lessons unless you have a true emergency.

* Arrive for your court time according to the Club Bell System and prepare to leave the court on time. A warning bell will ring 5 minutes before each hour and again on the hour.

* Extra court time utilized will be charged as "spot time" in 15 minute increments.

* Non-players are not allowed on the court for any reason unless as part of a special club program or at the Professional Staff's discretion. Spectators, when on court, must abide by the Rules and Regulations/Footwear Policy.

* Do not open air structure emergency doors unless it is a 911 emergency. In time, the structure will deflate and collapse (depending on backup generator) causing severe damage to the facility.

* Facility abuse or audible obscenities will result in court time forfeiture.

Examples of facility abuse:
* Wearing shoes other than tennis shoes.
* Spiting and or mucus discharge/gum discarded anywhere other than the trash can.
* Bringing an open container into the faciility, ie. coffee cup, soda can, etc.
* Tracking in mud or any excessive loose impediments.

* Please carry in your tennis shoes during set/snowy weather to prevent tracking in dirt and icemelt.

* Proper tennis attire required. No Jeans, swimsuits, etc.

* Please turn cell phone ringers off or to the vibrate mode.

Consult the Tennis Professional Staff for any questions regarding tennis etiquette and club policies.

Junior Tennis Camp Parent Information

1. Complete the club’s Emergency Release Form upon registration.

2. Bring to camp: Hat or visor, sunscreen, swim attire and towel if you plan to swim, lunch or money to purchase lunch from snack bar, and a water bottle. A refrigerator is available to Jr. Campers in the upstairs lounge. There are two water fountains (one in the clubhouse and one on court). Bottled water is also sold at the front desk.

3. Camp will always be held. If we do not spend enough time on-court due to inclement weather (thunderstorms), I will decide the camp’s extended hours schedule. Alternate opportunities are available if your schedule doesn’t permit.

  • If 1 hour of a camp day is rained out on Monday or Tuesday then camp might start at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday or we might use part of the lunch hour to get in more on court tennis time if small rain delay happens.
  • If Monday or Tuesday is completely rained out, then camp would be 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. If a total camp day occurs without on-court tennis time, then we will add hrs to Friday’s camp to make this an extra special day of clinic, challenge games and tournament from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • We will not cancel a camp due to “heat index” / “code red” / “air quality.” We will make the necessary adjustments, frequent water breaks, indoor skills rotations, etc. Remember, this is a sport and kids are much more resistant to hot weather than adults.
  • If it is misting or the area has scattered light rain, camp will be held on-court!

4. We also have an indoor tennis curriculum that will be used sparingly. It includes, but is not limited to: Video analysis of players’ strokes, footwork drills, volley control drills, groundstroke focus drills and skills drills. We also reserve the right to start camp on Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. (through July) due to home Junior Team Matches. Campers will then get their 3-hours on court, plus they can go swimming and/or support our club’s team until 2:00 p.m.

5. Children ages 10 and under cannot be “dropped off” for camp early or stay late unless they are supervised by someone age 16 or older. QOSTC Before/After care is only $10.00 per hour per child and is 80% on-court tennis and is 100% supervised.

6. All Jr. campers who want to swim must pass the “swim test” usually held each Monday at 12:00 for Jr. Camp lunch time to ensure safety for Jr. campers. Jr. campers only need to pass swim test once per summer.

7. Please read QOSTC Camp Refund/Credit Policy.

8. Please consider the QOSTC Proshop when you purchase your tennis equipment. Because of our Advisory Staff Professionals and Wilson Racquet Dealer Exclusive Racquet status, we can usually save you $30 to $50 on performance racquets (initial stringing and tax is included with your purchase) over Dick’s or Sport Authority. Other than our in-stock equipment, we can order many brands of shoes, racquets, bags and accessories. Help us grow the game by supporting the Proshop. Please read “Reasons to Purchase”. Click Proshop for more info.

9. The Footwear Policy is strictly enforced. Please read Rules and Regulations / Footwear Policy. Running shoes, cross trainers, sneakers, or any sole that marks our courts will not be permitted. Jr. Campers receive a Proshop discount ($5.00 off Junior shoes, $10.00 off Adult shoes). We also have “loaner” shoes if needed.

Bring a positive attitude to camp and I will guarantee that you will receive proper instruction on the fundamentals and advanced stroke technique ensuring that you will improve quickly. It will be exciting!
